Life Without Chocolates

What would life be without chocolate?
Without sweets, candy and toffee?
Dressed in every flavour possible,
From butterscotch to coffee.

What would life be without the existence
Of this sweet delectable pleasure?
Which in indulging oneself, the joy brought
Has no particular measure.

A life without chocolate,
Would be a dull one, indeed.
This rich, sugary delight,
Satisfies everyone’s need.

Be it a failed test or a lost shoe,
Or a badly torn sweater.
This little cheeky do-gooder,
Will make you feel better.

Chocolate has the ability,
To mend a broken soul.
It’s a calorie-filled blessing
Enjoyed by both the young and old.

And not to mention all the variations,
Of this rich dynamite.
Soft and sweet, strong and bitter,
Dark and milky and white.

Of course, there’s the occasional weight-gain
Or the aching tooth cavity.
But soon, it won’t matter,
Because chocolate has you in its captivity.

So, believe me when I say
That chocolate isn’t normal food.
It’s a best friend, it’s a life saver.
It self-adjusts to your mood.

And also hear me when I say
That a life with chocolate is good.
Would live a life without it?
I don’t think I would.
